Exploration 90

After the 5th grade one franchise made a huge revolution in my life, and it was none other than Pokemon. I was so obsessed that I was collecting everything there was to collect that had those Japanese creatures on it. Games, stickers, cards, toys, figurines etc.

I was a huge fan of Pokemon at the time, and all the other cartoon characters from before were basically vanished from my life completely. This was my introduction to the Japanese animation too, as all the other series I was watching during the time were anime.

Actually, Digimon have been also taking a lot of my attention. I was also playing the games, watching the TV series, collecting merchandise, and of course drawing my own imaginary Digimon friends.

But really, middle school life was very hectic for me so I had very little free time. My classmates were not interested in cartoons anymore so I didn’t have anyone to share my cartoons with. That’s why games were replacing my drawing ritual. They became my quick and easy escape from reality.
